Traditional Berber bags
Please note that these are traditional Berber bags! The leather is sun dried and cured in traditional Moroccan tanneries. The leather will naturally soften and darken with use. The leather naturally has a smell when leaving the tanneries.
This will fade 100% to a completely neutral smell π. You just need to let it air out. If you want to speed up the process you could also use baking soda.
Baking soda is well known for its odor absorbing qualities and doesn't cause any harm to leather. Place your item inside a bag or pillow case. Throw a light coat of baking soda over it as well as inside any cavities and leave the container sealed with the item and powder inside for 24 hours.
